Planning a Custom Media Wall: What to Decide First
A successful media wall is designed around the whole room, not just the television. The best result balances viewing height, storage, heat, wiring, lighting, and the architecture around it.
Start with the equipment and viewing position
TV size, seating distance, soundbar placement, outlets, and cable paths should be considered before decorative materials are chosen. This prevents a beautiful wall from becoming difficult to use.
Decide what the wall needs to store
Some rooms need closed cabinets, while others benefit from open shelves, a simple floating console, or a fireplace-centered composition. Storage should support the room instead of making the wall feel heavy.
Coordinate fireplace and lighting details
